The State of Design is a non-profit research and advocacy group for the design industry in Western Australia, aiming to understand and promote the work of designers in all walks of life. Our ambition is to develop a deeper understanding of how design provides social and economic value, the state of the local design economy and explore issues of representation both within the design industry and in the public and commercial sector.
The State of Design group includes researchers from across the five universities in WA – Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, University of Western Australia and Notre Dame University – all working in design and design-led innovation across a number of disciplines.
